Kyoto Tachibana University was founded in 1967 as a private university for women on the basis of Tachibana Educational Institution, which has a long history of more than one hundred years. The university now consists of four faculties and eight departments. There are approximately 3,000 undergraduate students, 50 graduate students and 20 international students. In 2005 the university became co-educational, and its original philosophy, "foster independent women," has been reinterpreted as the idea of "independence" and "co-existence" to achieve a symbiotic society regardless of gender. We also added "clinical knowledge" as the university motto, trying to enhance career education. |
